Yoga sadhana is a systematic practice which takes us from the gross to the more subtle layers of our being. Pratyahara means to withdraw the mind from the impressions of the senses. According to Sage Patanjali pratyahara is the 5th limb or step of 8 in Yoga sadhana. Throughout the weekend we will move through the steps of yoga from Yama and Niyama to asana and pranayama and with practice of Yoga Nidra and Pratyahara techniques towards the experience of withdrawing the mind from the impressions of the senses. Whilst the senses are active the body, mind, memory and prana are is disturbed and we cannot experience meditation or peace. These distractions need to be acknowledged and dropped to move to the higher stages of yoga sadhana.
The weekend will consist of mantra chanting, asana and pranayama, yoga nidra, meditation sessions and practice oriented lectures.
